Sunday evening, August 28. As the generator roared to power the sump pumps that kept our basement flood to a minimum, the setting sun randomly illuminated patches of leaves on the trees below the final clouds of Hurricane Irene.
My family was very lucky, and our hearts go out to everyone devastated by this massive storm, and particularly the many people in our town and surrounding areas who lost so much to the Raritan River flooding.
