Not only has gluten-free eating cut down dramatically on the frequency and severity of my migraines, it has also left me with much more energy and a slow but steady weight loss. So, every bun-less hamburger, every rice cake sandwich, every piece of cake or cookie I've said no to, every time I had a glass of wine when I really wanted a beer -- it's all been completely worth it.
And besides, there are substitute products. Plus, I'm lucky enough that a piece of peach cobbler or a small serving of regular macaroni here and there doesn't seem to hurt.
The verdict? Trying to be gluten-free has been easy, and produced near-miraculous results for me. This lifestyle change is permanent.
