Under A Sky Like This

Just a couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were remarking how the leaves hadn't really started turning color yet, and that Fall seemed late. The temperature still often reached the high 70s and low 80s during the day, and I hadn't felt the need to switch to flannel sheets in early October the way I usually do.

But now, just days later really, autumn has truly settled in. Certain trees in the neighborhood look like they're on fire with impossibly bright orange and red leaves and it's gotten chilly -- like put-the-heat-on-at-night chilly.

The clocks will "fall back" on November 6, but these days it's still relatively dark at 7:00 in the morning. By 7:20, though, there are beautiful sunrises such as this one. It reminded me that there is much beauty and things to be grateful for, when your day starts off under a sky like this.
